INDIANAPOLIS -- It's been a week-long celebration of Peyton Manning with the biggest events still to come, but his mother, Olivia, got to share in some of the glory on Saturday when a special room at Peyton’s Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent was dedicated to her.
“It’s still kind of hard to imagine,” said Olivia. “It’s a special weekend.”
The room in the pediatric ICU has a nautical theme, including an anchor on the wall – the symbol of hope and an emblem of the Delta Gamma – Olivia’s sorority and the ones behind the dedication.
“The Delta Gamma’s idea of naming this themed room at the hospital after me is absolutely one of the nicest things I’ve ever experienced,” said Olivia Manning. “Our family spent 14 years coming to this wonderful city.”

The dedication was about Olivia, but she couldn’t go long without bragging on her son and his accomplishments as well as sharing the excitement their entire family has for this weekend’s events and their gratefulness for Peyton’s time with the Colts.
“In April of 1998, Peyton was the Number one draft choice of the Indianapolis Colts, we were excited and hopeful that he would have a long and successful career,” said Olivia Manning. “We had no idea he would retire from professional football with all of the passing records, win more games than any other quarterback in history, be a five-time MVP and win two Super Bowls. Most of this was accomplished during his 14 years with the Colts.”
