INDIANAPOLIS -- More than half a million dollars in drugs and cash is now off the streets thanks to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers, but police are still searching for the people who brought it into the area.
IMPD officers responded to the 1300 block of North Ewing Street last week for a shots fired call. The witness told police they saw 4-5 people flee the home in a white Impala carrying black trash bags.
Officers arrived and found narcotics and cash in plain view and were able to get a search warrant for the residence.
Inside they found:
- $479,982 Cash
- 4 ¼ Kilos of Cocaine
- 1 lb. Marijuana
- 1 oz. of Meth
- 1 Handgun
So far no arrests have been made.
“This was a combined effort between the community and police which helped get dangerous narcotics off the streets of Indianapolis,” IMPD said in a release sent out Friday. “Narcotics dealing is often associated with violence, which will not be tolerated. This is another example that shows when the police and community work together, we can have a significant impact on crime in their neighborhood.”
