INDIANAPOLIS -- A proposed bill would raise the minimum wage to $15 over the next 3 years.
Senate Bill 121, authored by Sen. Frank Mrvan (D-1) was introduced at the beginning of January and proposes a minimum wage increase from $7.25 to $10 in 2019.
The minimum wage would then increase to $13 in June 2020 and to $15 an hour in 2021.
After 2021, the bill would make it so that the hourly minimum wage in Indiana would increase every June 30 "at the same percentage as any increase in the Consumer Price Index for the preceding calendar year."
