PIKE COUNTY, Ind. -- A rare sighting in Pike County where DNR officers say an Armadillo was spotted wandering around this week!

Armadillos aren't native to Indiana, but they have been found in the state from time to time.

According to Department of Natural Resource officers, most sightings of the animal have been in the southern half of the state.

DNR District 7 in southwestern Indiana says they've only seen a handful of armadillos in the past 10 years.
