INDIANAPOLIS — With construction of its Red Line behind schedule, IndyGo is taking steps to get the project back on track.
Justin Stuehrenberg, IndyGo's Vice President of Planning and Capital Projects, said a portion of Virginia Avenue will close for six-weeks beginning Monday, and parking will be restricted on North College Avenue between 38th. and 66th. streets, also beginning Monday.
"This acceleration plan will shorten Red Line construction by four-months. This will shorten the time this construction inconveniences residents, business owners and drivers in the corridor. We will be adding as many as 15 construction crews to work along the 13-mile stretch with the intent of completing all major construction by mid-summer," said Stuehrenberg.
A public meeting with updated information on the Red line takes place February 19 at 11am at the Indianapolis Arts Center in Broad Ripple, 820 East 67th. Street.
