INDIANAPOLIS — Wednesday was National Reading Day and the RTV6 team celebrated by giving the children at Urban Act Academy free books to take home with them.
RTV6 employees took some time out of their work day to share their love of reading with the kids at Urban Act Academy.
Thanks to the generosity of RTV6 employees and our parent company, Scripps, we raised enough money to give each kid at the school two free books to take home and enjoy.
For some of those kids these were the first books they have ever owned.
After the kids picked out their two books, each teacher at the school also got to make a small selection of books for their classroom libraries.
