INDIANAPOLIS -- If you're looking for something to do this weekend, why not try a little fishing?
Saturday, May 19, is a Free Fishing Day in Indiana.
Indiana residents can fish public waters without a fishing license or a trout stamp. Children ages 17 and younger do not need a license on any day.
A number of events will be held across the state. Click here for information on Free Fishing Day events
You'll need to register in advance for any Family Learn to Fish workshop.
More family fishing fun will happen at Washington Township Park in Avon, Lake Cottonwood in Edinburgh, Freedom Park in Greenwood, Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis, Brown County State Park in Nashville, and Prophetstown State Park in West Lafayette.
If you're interested in attending events at those parks, contact them first because you may need to register in advance.
The final two Free Fishing Days for 2018 are June 2 and 3.
