RICHMOND, Ind. (AP) — Second Lady Karen Pence will be back home in Indiana this week to spotlight an opioid recovery program.
Pence will travel to Richmond on Tuesday with Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta, Surgeon General Jerome Adams, and senior White House adviser Kellyanne Conway.
The group will visit Belden Inc., which offers a program called “Pathways to Employment” that aims to get people struggling with substance abuse employed.
The program allows those who are denied a job because of a failed drug test to enroll in a treatment program.
If they coursework their course work and commit to staying off drugs, they will be provided a job with Belden, which manufactures electronic goods.
