INDIANAPOLIS -- An investigation is underway after an infant was found dead inside a home on Indianapolis' north side.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the home in the 2800 block of N. Capitol Avenue just before 7 p.m.
Police say the infant was found dead inside the home. The child's age and identity have not been released.
The circumstances surrounding the infant's death remain under investigation and police say they cannot determine whether or not foul play is suspected at this time. It will be up to the Marion County Coroner to make that determination.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene to interview witnesses and collect evidence from the home.
