Students at Franklin Central High School have a reason to celebrate after Franklin Central's Student Council received the Gold Honor Council distinction from the Indiana Association of Student Councils.
The IASC Executive Director, Rob Zeider, sent a letter to Franklin Central's principal congratulating the school.
The award recognizes student councils for providing leadership and service.
The members are being recognized for their service at school and around the community in Franklin Township on the southeast side of Indianapolis.
"I am very proud of our students and the leadership skills they are developing," Franklin Central High School principal Kevin Koers told RTV6. "They are truly making a difference in our school and our community. I'm very, very proud of them."
The Franklin Flashes will be honored at this year's 2017 IASC State Convention, which is coming up November 4 at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott.
