SPEEDWAY, Ind. -- More changes will be coming soon to the town of Speedway in the form of new stores at the Speedway Super Center.

Demolition work is expected to begin any day now on the center to welcome new businesses.

On Monday, crews tore down the TJ Maxx sign to prepare for work to update the front of that building. The store remains open while construction is underway.

Crews will soon begin tearing down empty storefronts at the rest of the center.

A plot plan on the leasing agent's website shows new store labels, including the addition of a Burlington Coat Factory store (you can see an image of the stores at the top of this story). Other major tenants include Kohl's, TJ Maxx and Kroger.

Speedway's economic development director, Tim Gropp, said two more mid-box stores will also go in, but the names haven't yet been announced.

Construction crews have replaced lighting in the parking lot with LED lights.

The Speedway Super Center is located on Crawfordsville Road, a little more than a mile west of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
