Retired Speedway man launches newspaper

Posted

SPEEDWAY, Ind. -- Thousands of people who live in Speedway now have another way to find out what’s going on in their neighborhood.

Brocky Brown, a Speedway resident since 2003, has published a new, free monthly newspaper called "Speedway Town Talk."

More than 11,000 homeowners, renters and businesses are receiving the newspaper in their mailboxes.

The first issue launched on November 3 and the second will come out on December 1.

“There’s so much going on here and we’re highlighting as much as we can,” said Brown.  “It’s a ‘good news’ newspaper.”

The newspaper will be supported entirely by advertisers.

Brown said he’s retired and wanted to try something new.

The town already has a weekly newspaper, the "Speedway Town Press."
