INDIANAPOLIS — Netflix chose New Years Day to make the announcement "Stranger Things" fans have been waiting for - when the third season will finally premiere.
The Netflix original series takes place in Hawkins, Indiana. The first season premiered in July 2016 and the second season followed in October 2017. Fans have waited over a year for news about season three.
In a new teaser trailer released at 12:01 a.m., Netflix revealed that the third season of "Stranger Things" will premiere on July 4, 2019.
Netflix also released a cryptic New Years Eve video to give fans a sneak peek at what's to come in the new season.
