INDIANAPOLIS -- Students in Wayne Township launched yet another learning garden at Ben Davis High School Wednesday.
The learning gardens help students and staff learn about the food they eat by helping it grow.
MSD Wayne Township is partnering with the Kitchen Community to plant learning gardens.
Students at four schools including Chapelwood, Stout Field, Maplewood and Robey elementary schools are already taking part in the project.
Learning gardens are essentially outdoor classrooms that produce edible gardens.
Kitchen Community staff install the gardens and teach students how to plant and care for what they grow, according to the district.
