INDIANAPOLIS -- A thief took advantage of a woman's grief on Friday when he stole her purse and wallet while she was attending her mother's funeral.
It happened around 11:45 a.m. at the corner of 82nd Street and Allisonville Road in Castleton.
Alyssa Dillon posted about what happened on her Facebook page.
She said a man broke out the passenger side window of her aunt's car and stole her purse, wallet and belongings.
"It has been an absolute nightmare and I am still having a hard time processing it. I'm not, I don't have a criminal mentality, never would I have thought in a million years that somebody could do something like this. It's been a complete nightmare," said Kathy Windler, victim.
You can see on the surveillance video how the man responsible walks through the parking lot and checks several cars. He actually goes into the funeral home before coming back out. The thief eventually gets into his car and drives around the block. When he comes back, he parks right next to Windler's car, and grabs something out of his trunk. You can the thief raise his arm and use an object to smash the window. It then appears like he takes items from the victim's car and puts them into his vehicle.
