INDIANAPOLIS — Three men have been convicted of murdering a Cumberland gas station clerk, Marion County Prosecutor, Terry Curry, announced Friday.

The murder of Khushwinder Singh happened on Jan. 15, 2016 during an attempted gas station robbery at Cumberland Express Mart in the 11000 block of East Washington Street in Cumberland.

The three men - Tyler Miller, 17, Kiree Hayes, 24, and Damien Cobb, 17, (age at the time of crime) - have been convicted of multiple counts including Murder, Felony Murder, Attempted Robbery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon.

The three men were also convicted of another gas station robbery in the 6000 block of Brookville Road that occurred two and a half hours after the murder of Singh.

Surveillance video of the fatal robbery shows two of the men, Miller and Cobb, enter the store with firearms, pointing them at Singh.

After Singh was shot, Miller had jumped over the counter and attempted to open the cash register, but failed. Both men fled the scene in a white Didge vehicle.

In the second robbery on Brookville Road, three and a half miles away, Hayes pistol whipped the gas station clerk in the head and forced him to open the cash register.

All three men were found on foot by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers. The white Dodge found in a ditch less than a mile away from the gas station on Brookville Road.
