INDIANAPOLIS -- If you're traveling for the Fourth of July, you'll want to make sure you have a little extra cash for your gas because prices have skyrocketed this week.
Some Indianapolis gas stations were selling gas for as high as $3.09 per gallon, which is significantly higher than the average prices from the past week.
After declining over the past month, gasoline prices have jumped significantly over the past few days as we head into the mid-week holiday.
AAA predicts about 47 million Americans will travel during the Fourth of July holiday. About 40 million of them are expected to travel by car, an increase of nearly 6 percent from 2017.
