WISCONSIN -- The future U.S.S. Indianapolis was launched into the waters in Wisconsin during a ceremony on Wednesday.
The ship, which is the Navy's 17th Littoral Combat Ship, was launched at Fincantieri Marinette Marine in Marinette, Wisconsin.

Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly's wife, Jill, officially launched the ship.
Jill also christened the ship on Saturday.
