INDIANAPOLIS -- Video obtained by RTV6 shows the moment a truck pulled out of a parking garage and hit a person riding an electric scooter in downtown Indianapolis.
The incident happened earlier this month near the Dennison Parking Garage on South Meridian Street.
The lawyer for the man riding the scooter says the driver of the pickup was coming out of the garage at a high rate of speed and wasn't paying attention when his client was struck.

The scooter rider is expected to be okay but did suffer some serious injuries; his lawyer says he is exploring his legal options at this time.
The accident comes in the midst of the return of scooters to downtown Indianapolis, which has raised concern from some groups who say riders are not being careful and following rules.

A memo to Indianapolis police which was obtained by Call 6 Investigates this week shows that officers will begin enforcing scooter laws and will hold riders responsible if they are being dangerous or in serious violation.
