CARMEL, Ind. -- A water main break has disrupted service for a "significant number" of customers on Indianapolis' north side and will require extended time to be repaired.
The water main break happened at 96th Street and Gray Road on Indianapolis' north side near Carmel just before 8 a.m.
The southbound lane of Gray Road is closed from Haven Point Boulevard to 96th Street while repairs are being made. The water main is 14 feet deep, requiring additional excavation and repair time.
Citizens Energy said a large number of customers are impacted by the break, but water should be restored by midnight.
The cause of the break is unknown at this time.
