INDIANAPOLIS -- Hundreds of students in the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township took part in Indy Do Day.
All of the district’s elementary schools participated in the event, which is a community-wide effort to make Indianapolis a cleaner, nicer place to live.
Wayne Township students participated by doing chalk murals, picking up trash and watering gardens in the community.
Organizers for Indy Do Day say their goal is 20,000 people for a citywide day of service from Sept. 28-30.
