INDIANAPOLIS -- People living in one Indianapolis neighborhood are concerned after a woman was caught walking up to doors and peeping into homes on dozens of occasions.
Surveillance videos from several homes in the Mars Hill neighborhood show the woman snooping around several homes. Neighbors say it's been going on for months and when they approach her she claims she's "at the wrong address" and walks away.
"Looking inside the windows, trying to see if anyone's there or maybe something in there that, 'oh nobody's here, let's take it..' But say an elderly is back there taking a nap or something and they walk in on a burglary," said Jeri Huddleston. "That happens all the time. We don't want anything to happen like that to any of our people."
Police say if you find a suspicious person trespassing on your private property you should call police immediately and not try to approach them yourself.
They also say investing in security systems, locking your doors and bringing valuables in from cars will help deter thieves from your home.
