INDIANAPOLIS — A woman is now stable, but still critical, after police say she was struck by a bullet that came through the window of her apartment while she was celebrating with her family early New Years Day.
Police were called to the 5700 block of Port Irving Drive around 12:45 a.m.
The victim told police that she was sitting with family in an upstairs apartment when bullets came through the window of the home.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation, but police say it is possible that the shooting may have been from celebratory gunfire.
Police do not have a shooting suspect at this time.
