INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman involved in a hit-and-run on Indianapolis' east side late Wednesday evening has died.

Officers were called to the intersection of 16th Street and Arlington Avenue just before 10 p.m.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers on the scene said the victim was walking along the road when she was hit by a vehicle. Police have identified her as 57-year-old Lisa Louise Hardy.

Police are searching for a 2009-2010 Hyundai Elantra of unknown color. The car should have front-end damage.
