INDIANAPOLIS -- Police are investigating after a body was found under a mattress in an alley on Indianapolis' northeast side.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the 2200 block of Wheeler Street after someone reported finding a body Wednesday afternoon.
Police on the scene said a woman's body was found lying under a mattress in the alley. Based on the woman's condition they believe she had been there for a few days.
Police are not saying whether they believe the death is suspicious. They are calling it a death investigation at this time.
