INDIANAPOLIS — Fewer Hoosiers applied for unemployment last month, according to statistics from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

Indiana's unemployment rate fell to 3.5% in June and remains lower than the national rate of 3.7%. The report said the state's total labor force, which includes people who are employed and those seeking employment, stands at 3.39 million people with a 64.8 percent participation rate.

Indiana had the third-lowest unemployment rate last month in the Midwest, behind Wisconsin (2.9%) and Minnesota (3.3%).
