INDOT warns of difficult driving conditions

Posted
and last updated

Winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour are blowing snow and creating hazardous driving conditions on many roadways, according to a press release from the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Many counties in east central Indiana have issued travel advisories, which means routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation.

The release states that when pavement treated with salt begins melting ice and becomes wet, the blowing snow sticks to the wet pavement and can quickly refreeze and accumulate.
