INDIANAPOLIS -- Gas prices in Indianapolis have been steadily rising for the past few weeks, and they finally broke the $2 per gallon mark.
The average gas price in Indianapolis on Wednesday is $2.004, about 5 cents cheaper than the national average of $2.055.
On Tuesday, the average gas price in the city was $1.888.
Prices are still about 35 cents cheaper now than they were a year ago, when the average price for the city was $2.358.
According to GasBuddy, the last time Indianapolis' gas prices were above $2 per gallon was in October 2015.
As of about 6 a.m., the cheapest place to find gas in Indianapolis is the Sam's Club on 86th Street near Colby Boulevard.
