INDIANAPOLIS -- Crews will be taking advantage of the forecasted dry weather this weekend to aggressively repair potholes throughout the city of Indianapolis.
The Department of Public Works will be out in force starting Friday to repair hundreds of potholes that they haven’t been able to address because of the recent rains.
Crews will be in “pothole blitz” mode on Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. They hope to get to more than 700 pothole service requests over the four-day blitz.
“The directive in this blitz operation is ‘If you see it, patch it,' said acting DPW director Tim Joyce. “If you’re out and about this weekend, you’ll see crews filling potholes.”

The heavy and consistent rains this month have not only caused new potholes to form but have caused deterioration to the existing ones as well.
Anyone can enter pothole service requests by contacting the Mayor’s Action Center at 317-327-4622 or by using the RequestIndywebsite. DPW also encourages residents to assist pothole crews by providing the closest intersection near a pothole when making a service request.
