HANCOCK COUNTY — A teen is dead after he was ejected from a vehicle during a crash in Hancock County over the weekend.

Deputies from the Hancock County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash just before 7 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of 300 North and 400 East.

Emergency crews were told two people were in the vehicle when it left the roadway and rolled. Both were ejected during the crash.

Aaron Johnson, 19, of Indianapolis, was found near the vehicle. He was taken to Methodist Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Emergency personnel found a 17-year-old boy, of Indianapolis, in a field nearby. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff's office says excessive speed and drug use are both suspected in the crash, which remains under investigation.

No charges have been filed at this time.
