INDIANAPOLIS — Star Wars fans across Indianapolis are invited to take part in a 9-day citywide scavenger hunt put on by IMAX and the Indiana State Museum ahead of the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker later this month.

Every day between December 9 and December 17, a hand-painted one-of-a-kind ceramic mug will be hidden somewhere in the city. The @IMAXIndy Instagram page will then share clues about where it can be found starting at 11:30 a.m. each day.

Each mug features a new design by the anonymous local Indianapolis artist behind the @Indy_Mugs Instagram account.

The nine mugs will also contain two tickets to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Hunters who don’t find a mug but participate daily will also have a chance to win a tenth mug in a raffle-style competition by posting daily on Instagram about their hunt with the hashtag #IMAXIndyMugClub.

“We know that Star Wars fans will really embrace this active art project by a local artist because when the theater did this in 2017, we had a great time,” says Brian Hammes, theater manager at the IMAX Theater in the Indiana State Museum. “May the force be with you on your hunt for these tickets and works of art.”
