INDIANAPOLIS -- Indy Youth Sports is a group that works to create a safe environment for kids after school to learn from mentors and make better choices.

  • The group was started by former NFL player, Emil Ekiyor
  • Ekiyor says they use football to bring the kids in and then try to expose, educate and impart to them solid core values
  • Parents can also learn about college savings plans, and players get academic support
  • Indy Youth Sports gives kids a chance to play sports safely and at an affordable price
  • This fall, more than 1,000 kids will participate
  • Ekiyor says they have to turn kids away because they can't afford enough equipment
