CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. -- The investigation into an arson fire that killed four children in Flora last November is still very active, according to Indiana State Police.
The fire, which broke out in a home on Columbia Street, claimed the lives of sisters Keyana,11, Keyara, 9, Kerrielle,7, and Konnie, 5. Their mother, Gaylin Rose, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Indiana State Police are leading the investigation into the cause of the fire with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security State Fire Marshal's Office and the Lafayette Fire Department.
Thursday, Indiana State Police said they now believe there were only accelerants in one room of the house where the girls were killed.
"Initially it was reported that there were several areas in the house where accelerants were found. Through ongoing investigation and examination of the evidence, it was determined that accelerants were found in just one room," said Sgt. Rich Myers, Indiana State Police.
Myers would not say which room the accelerants were found in.
