INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Power & Light said it has received an increase of reports about payment scams.
In a news release, IPL said customers have reported being contacted by someone claiming to represent company who asks for payment immediately or service would be disconnected.
People should not provide personal information or agree to a caller's request for payment. Anyone who receive a call should hang up and call IPL at 317-261-8222.
IPL does not require a specific payment method or type, and if the company will have specific information related to the customer's billing account if it calls a customer.
