INDIANAPOLIS -- The IPS School Board accepted the resignation Thursday night of one of six employees who failed to immediately report allegations of sexual abuse by a school counselor.
Former Positive Supports Academy principal Mark Cosand stepped down last week, citing a medical condition.
But, Cosand told RTV6, he was also one of the IPS employees who failed to report allegations that counselor Shana Taylor had sexually abused a student.

It’s a hard pill to swallow,” said Cosand in an interview with Call 6 Investigates. “It didn’t cross my mind to say, 'Hey did you guys file?’ because so many people already knew about it.”
IPS Superintendent Dr. Louis Ferebee said the district and CPS were working together to re-educate staff on procedures.

Ferebee also said that even though the allegations weren't immediately reported, that doesn't mean the district wasn't acting.
"Everybody was working really hard to ensure that the person was removed from the learning environment, removed from the campus and had no further contact with students," Ferebee said.
Taylor's employment with IPS has been terminated. She's currently behind bars on multiple charges.
