INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Public Schools is investigating reports involving a 12-year old boy exposing himself on a school bus and making other students touch him.
On October 21, a parent called Brookside School 54 to notify administrators of an alleged incident on a school bus the previous day, according to district spokesperson Kristin Cutler.
“School leadership immediately filed a CPS report and notified school police,” said Cutler. “As the initial investigation produced more detailed information on the allegations, the case was assigned as a police investigation on October 26.”
According to the IPS school police report, a detective began investigating the case that same day, on October 26.
According to the police report, the suspect unzipped his pants and pulled out his penis exposing it to two children, and then grabbed the students’ hands and placed it on his penis.
Both the alleged victims, a 10-year old girl and an 8-year old boy, both told the suspect they did not want to see his penis.
The boy “left his penis exposed for an undetermined amount of time using his sweatshirt to cover himself when other students go off the bus,” read the report.
One of the alleged victims told his mother about the incident after getting off the bus.
The alleged female victim told police the suspect gave her a note apologizing for showing his penis and making her touch it, read the police report.
The detective checked the bus video recording and said the video confirmed the students were sitting together and the suspect was acting in a suspicious manner, although the detective could not see the exposure due to the height of the seatbacks.
The detective attempted to interview the suspect’s parents, but when they learned it was a criminal investigation, the 12-year old boy’s father refused to answer any questions.
