WASHINGTON, D.C. — After eight-and-a-half hours of spelling, participants in the Scripps National Spelling Bee are getting closer to finding out if they'll make it to the finals.
Tuesday's rounds narrowed the field to 452 spellers. Fourteen of the 16 Hoosier students are still in the competition, including IPS students Aryan Sant and Owen Norwalk.
They'll spell some more Wednesday, but only 50 will advance to Thursday's finals.
Scripps is the parent company of RTV6.
You can watch Thursday's finals on ESPN and ESPN2.
