ISO announces 'Harry Potter' concert series

Symphony will play scores to first three movies

INDIANAPOLIS -- Harry Potter fans rejoice – the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra will be bringing the music from the first three Potter films to Indy this fall and next spring.

The symphony will play the scores from "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" while the movies are projected on a big screen above.

“The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra has developed a reputation for performing live with some of history’s most iconic films,” said Gary Ginstling, chief executive officer of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to perform these epic film scores with the full movies as part of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series.”

The first performance, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" in Concert, will run from Sept. 23-25.

"Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" in Concert will run from Oct. 27-30, and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" in Concert will run from May 19-21.

Tickets range from $25 - $85 and can be purchased online here, or by calling the ISO box office at (317) 639-4300 beginning at 10 a.m. on July 15. ISO season subscribers can purchase tickets one day early on July 13, beginning at 10 a.m. Patrons receive a 10 percent discount when they buy the full three-concert series.
