INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapoils Symphony Orchestra will have a new music director after the 2020-21 season.
According to a release from ISO, Krzysztof Urbański will leave the orchestra in two years. A search committee will be formed to find his successor with ISO musicians, staff and board participating in the process.
“In an era when orchestras across the globe are vying for top-tier artistic direction, the ISO has benefited from a decade of stellar leadership from Maestro Urbański,” ISO chief executive officer James Johnson said.
Urbański began his term as music director in 2011. He was the youngest leader of any American orchestra at the time.
