INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman is accused of driving 130 miles per hour when she passed an off-duty officer on the shoulder of I-65 Sunday morning and then leading state police on a high-speed chase that spanned two counties.
That officer radioed in what he saw and a pursuit began just before 10 a.m.
Indiana State Police say the pursuit started in northern Marion County and ended in Johnson County where they deployed stop sticks to stop the woman.
The woman led state police on a chase going in excess of 120 miles per hour. Her vehicle hit the stop sticks after crossing over into Johnson County and then crashed into the median. She was taken to the hospital to be checked out but is expected to be okay. Her identity has not been released.
State police say another car also fell victim to the stop sticks but the driver was able to maintain control and only suffered four flat tires.
It is not clear what charges the woman will face at this time.
The chase and crash remain under investigation by Indiana State Police.
