WEST LAFAYETTE—During his 12-seasons as Purdue's head football coach, Joe Tiller collected a school record 87 wins. He also collected a lot of stuff.

Tiller, who was a beloved figure on the West Lafayette campus, died in 2017.

Now, about 200 items from Tiller's memorabilia collection donated by his widow will be available for sale at auction. The event is Saturday, July 27, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Feature Gym at the Cordova Recreational Sports Center on Martin Jischke Drive in West Lafayette. Retired Boilermaker basketball coach Gene Keady will make an appearance.

Among the items donated by Arnette Tiller to the Joe Tiller Chapter of the National Football Foundation is the 2013 Winnebago RV the couple purchased following Joe's retirement from Purdue. There are just 8,000 miles on it.

Proceeds from the sale will be Arnette's donation to the Tiller Chapter Endowment, which was started last year following a fund-raising auction by New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, who starred under Tiller at Purdue.

The National Football Foundation has 120 chapters in 47 states providing recognition and scholarships for high school football players. The foundation is also the sponsoring organization of the College Football Hall of Fame.
