INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved a rate increase for Citizens Energy Group water customers this week.
Residential customers can expect to see an approximately $5 monthly increase to their bills. The utility says the average residential water bill right now is $30 per month.
The rate increase was approved to pay for infrastructure upgrades to the Citizens Energy water system.
The utility plans to make $100 million worth of improvements over the next two years, including turning a Hamilton County quarry into a new reservoir and upgrading treatment plants.
