INDIANAPOLIS -- State Representative Karlee Macer (D-Indianapolis) is hosting a job fair on July 13 designed to assist workers who were impacted by the recent closings at Carrier and Rexnord.
Macer has partnered with the following organizations for the event:
- AFL-CIO
- IBEW Local 481
- Indiana Laborers Local 120
- The Indiana Laborers District Council
- The United Steelworkers of America Local 1999
“The focal point of this event will be connecting those men and women who have lost their jobs at Carrier, Rexnord, and other area companies with potential employers,” Macer said. “These employers will be there to conduct interviews, and other officials will be hand to make these workers aware of resources contained within the community that can help them as well as their families.
The fair will be from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the UA Local 440 at3747 South High School Road in Indianapolis.
“This is a time to be pro-active for these folks, who have seen so much adversity in recent months,” Macer said. “We want them to know that there are people out there who want to help them get back on their feet and earn a living and support their families.”
