INDIANAPOLIS -- It's literally one of the hottest food trends and it's coming to Indianapolis.
Joella's Hot Chicken is slated to open in mid-September in the former 96th Street Steakburgers location on East 96th Street.
If you're not familiar with hot chicken, here's what you need to know. It's spicy, fried chicken that has its roots in Nashville.
According to eater.com, hot chicken is something you go out and eat because it takes a whole lot of work to make at home.
In addition to hot chicken at six spice levels, Joella's has made from scratch side dishes and is expected to include a full-service bar.
So, what about 96th Steakburgers?
The owners say they will have locations in the future in Indianapolis, but did not have specifics on when or where.
