Greenwood, Ind. -- Thieves had a busy weekend in Johnson County.

Deputies say items were stolen from at least seven vehicles in the Wakefield Subdivision, which is located in the area of Smith Valley and Morgantown Roads.

The incidents began last Friday when a woman reported that her purse and wallet were taken from her unlocked car.

Also on Friday, several credit cards were stolen from an unlocked pickup truck at another address.

The victims there told deputies that the stolen cards were used at local Speedway gas stations.

Deputies were able to get surveillance video from one of the Speedway stores that showed two men buying gift cards.  A third person stayed in the vehicle.

Sunday, items were taken from more vehicles in the same neighborhood.

In one incident, a truck appeared to have been ransacked but nothing was taken. There were items left at the scene, but they didn't belong to the vehicle's owner.

Authorities say they've tracked down a woman who might have been involved in the incidents on Sunday although she is not cooperating.

Deputies say they have not ruled out that she was involved in the thefts on Friday as well.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office is asking people in the Wakefield subdivision to check their vehicles and call police right away if something doesn't look right.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call the sheriff's office tipline at (317) 346-4654.
