FRANKLIN, Ind. -- Firefighters in Franklin are raising awareness and money in the fight against Muscular Dystrophy.
A team of four firemen worked the intersection of Main and King Streets on Sunday where people heading off to breakfast or religious services placed cash or coins into the firefighter's boot.
This year's collection comes without the man whose name became synonymous with the annual event, Jerry Lewis. The national icon of comedy and film hosted for decades the annual Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon. Lewis died in August at the age of 91.
