GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Greenwood High School musician Natalie Haynes has been selected for a prestigious ensemble: the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band. The road to this honor is laced with hard work, dedication and mounds of talent.
“I am excited and honored to be a part of the All American Band. I hope to gain more knowledge involving music and become a better player,” wrote Haynes.
She’s a senior at Greenwood High School. She plays the French horn in concert band and orchestra. During marching band, she performs with a mellophone.
The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band is a compilation of the best high school musicians from all over the country. To be selected, you must audition. In total, the ensemble is 125 musicians.
“Natalie has always been a driven music student. She has diligently pursued playing and learning opportunities to better herself and is an incredibly hard worker,” said Greenwood High School Band Director John Morse.
The members of the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band get an all-expenses paid trip to San Antonio, TX. They will march in the halftime performance at the All-American Bowl. Those football teams are made up of the best football players in the country.
This should be an experience Natalie Haynes, along with the other musicians and football players, won’t soon forget.
