GREENWOOD, Ind. -- You don’t have to look too far to see the new additions at City Center Park in Greenwood. Just look up!
There are new shade structures overhead to protect children from the hot summer sun.
Greenwood Parks and Recreation Director Rob Taggart says construction started on August 8th and wrapped up two weeks later.
The $104,000 project was funded in part by donations. The rest of the financial backing came from the Greenwood Parks and Recreation general fund.
There’s a yellow shade structure over the wooden seating deck near the splash pad. Nearby, there’s a purple shade structure over the play area for 2 to 5 year olds and an orange shade structure over the play area for 5 to 12 year olds.
The Greenwood Parks and Recreation Department posted drone video on its Facebook page, highlighting the park’s additions. You can watch it in the video player above.
