Power outage in Johnson Co. prompts schools to dismiss early

WHITELAND — A power outage in Johnson County is prompting several schools to dismiss early today.

According to Duke Energy, nearly 2,900 customers in the Whiteland and New Whiteland area are without power.

The outage is prompting the Clark-Pleasant schools to dismiss two schools at 11:45 a.m. — Break-O-Day Elementary and Sawmill Woods Preschool.

Power has been restored to Whiteland Elementary and Whiteland Community High School.
