Just be kind; it's easy, say Plainfield kids

Posted

PLAINFIELD, Ind. -- Just be kind. A simple message from Plainfield kids that spread to many others over the last several weeks.

The "Just Be Kind" club helped organize a walk on Sunday to celebrate the "collection" of acts of kindness by people throughout the community.  According to its website, Just Be Kind was formed by kids, many of whom live in the Ashley Motel or other low-income parts of Plainfield, and the kids created Just Be Kind t-shirts to raise money so they could take trips or do other activities together.

Plainfield United Methodist Church hosted Sunday's walk, and those who were part of it were asked to bring a list of 20 people who would perform an act of kindness by the end of the day.  The goal was to collect 1,000 acts of kindness.
